Anna Fälth, Manager “WE EMPOWER through responsible business conduct in G7 countries” Programme, UN Women.   As such, Anna heads the Secretariat of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), EmpowerWomen.org, that promotes online collaboration, learning and innovation to advance women’s economic empowerment in over 190 economies; and the WeLearn, a virtual skills school that will tackle some of the skills gaps faced by women and girls for the jobs of the future. An economist, Anna has more than 20 years of experience as economic advisor within the UN system, including UNCTAD, UN-DESA, UNDP and UN Women. She has a MSc in Economics from Lund University, Sweden, and a Masters in Law and Economic from Hamburg University, Germany.

Meral is Empower Women’s Regional Coordinator for Europe and Central Asia. She focuses specifically on partnership building with the private sector, universities and other stakeholders. Prior to joining the United Nations, Meral established the Women Banking department at Turk Ekonomi Bankasi where she rolled out initiatives and functions from the ground up. She has also worked at the World Bank and the private sector across Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. Her areas of expertise include women entrepreneurship and financial inclusion. Meral has three boys and speaks Turkish, English, French and Spanish.

Diana Rusu is the Innovation and Knowledge Management for Women’s Economic Empowerment Specialist at UN Women’s Policy Division, Economic Empowerment Section. Passionate about #inno4dev #Edtech and #LifelongLearning she is concentrating on technologies and jobs in the gig economy. span/spanAs part of the “WE EMPOWER through Responsible Business Conduct in G7 Countries” Programme Team, she is designing “WeLearn” a global virtual skills school for women and girls. Diana envisions a world where no woman or girl is left behind, therefore in her work, she is focusing on capacity building for 21st century job market; the changing world of work; new opportunities and skills. Diana holds a Bachelors in International Economic Relations from the Academy of Economic Studies, Moldova, and a Masters in International Affairs from The New School, USA. She is a native Romanian speaker and fluent in English and Russian.

Stephanie is the National Coordinator in Canada for the We Empower programme of the European Union, International Labour Organization and UN Women. Stephanie also serves as Non-Executive Director at global frontier markets risk firm DaMina Advisors where she helped steer the firm's global expansion to Asia and Europe. Stephanie launched her international career as an investigative analyst at the Canadian Ministry of Foreign and International Affairs. With a penchant for visionary leadership and a yearning for innovative solutions to development, Stephanie co-founded Reconnect GH (a platform for connecting youth in Ghana with Diaspora) and the African Development Forum at the School of Oriental Studies and African Studies, University of London. Stephanie holds a BA Honors in Political Science and Law from Carleton University, Canada, and an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from University of London - School of Oriental and African Studies.

Nancy Mitchell is a consultant supporting Canada's engagement in the WE EMPOWER project. Previously, Nancy interned at UN Women's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific supporting both the Strategic Partnerships team and the Ending Violence Against Women team. In addition to supporting the WE EMPOWER project, Nancy volunteers for several national organizations focused on gender equality and youth engagement including Women In Cities International and the CAN Youth Network. She holds a Masters Degree in Political Science with a Graduate Collaborative Specialization in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Toronto.

Maria Tirmizi is Editorial Web Production Consultant for the WE EMPOWER Programme, Economic Empowerment Section at UN Women. Her special interest lies in corporate responsibility towards diversity and inclusion, particularly women’s empowerment and gender equality, as well as the development of new skills for vulnerable employees in the changing world of work. She has an MS in Journalism from Columbia University and also an MA in South Asia Studies and International Relations from Columbia University. She grew up in Pakistan and is fluent in Urdu and English.
