Last month we interviewed Bernice Dapaah, Executive Director of the Ghana Bamboo bikes initiative on the Knowledge Gateway. With the Knowledge Gateway community she shared the story of her enterprise and gave some useful business tips about enterprise management and development.

Now she has been able to get the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and the UNFCC Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres to try out one of her bamboo bikes at the UN climate conference in Warsaw, Poland.

At the conference Bernice and her team were recognized for their work and efforts to deliver sustainable, non-polluting and affordable forms of transportation that is adapted to local needs, while also improving the lives of many rural Ghanaians, particularly women and youth
