Dear WE EMPOWER Community,

We are a group of New School Students who are collaborating with the WE EMPOWER Programme team for our Summer 2019 Programme. We are very excited about this opportunity.

Our assignment

Companies are investing in community development programmes to make valuable, effective and responsible contributions that also make business sense. Companies lead by example, showcasing their commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.

A key motivation is to respond to consumer preferences to buy from companies that are active in the community and support community initiatives. Consumers want companies to give back to the communities where they do business; therefore, companies can make important contributions to social change by aligning to consumer preferences.

Millennials is the generation that have brought changes and motivated that transformation. There are numerous studies about the millennials behavior, but we would like to understand what motivates the next generation - Generation Z. What are their expectations entering the workforce? What drives their decisions? What are their expectations from current/future employers?

How can you engage

We are seeking participants from 18 years to 23 years from G7 Countries (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, Unites States) and the European Union to be featured in our project. If you are interested in having your voice heard, please respond to our Twitter poll. Some respondents may be contacted for an interview that will be featured in UN Women’s WE EMPOWER Programme report.
