Carol Ajie is a Constitutional and Human Rights Lawyer, enrolled as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1987 and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators, UK. She has sat on panel as Arbitrator Judge in Nigeria with a former Chief Judge of the Federal High Court. She is a pro bono honoree; she holds an Int’l Human Rights Law Certificate from the prestigious Georgetown University Law Center, Washington D.C., 2010 where she bagged LL.M (Int’l Legal Studies) she is a Fellow of Leadership and Advocacy for Women in Africa (LAWA), an award she won in 2009 upon the recommendation of Hon. Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar JSC (as she then was) and in later years Justice Mukhtar became the Chief Justice of Nigeria(CJN) and the first female CJN 2012-2014.
In April, 2012, Carol Ajie was presented with the Outstanding Female Lawyer in Africa Award by Friendship Foundation Int’l in Accra, Ghana. She is IBA resource person.
