Bio
I was raised in the Caribbean island of Aruba, which personally fostered an international perspective albeit through a very small community. That said, I am fluent in English, Spanish and Papiamento, and at an advanced level of proficiency in French, Dutch, and Arabic.
The majority of my professional work has involved human rights advocacy and sustainable development, specifically relating to children's rights and gender equality. I have previously interned at or collaborated with a number of organizations, namely, UN Women, UNICEF USA, Children of Prisoners EU, and People In Need.
2016-2017 Champion for Change @ Empower Women
As a global champion for change, I hope to increase awareness and mobilize people to advocate for women's economic empowerment. Specifically, as an Islamic Studies major, I hope to promote women's economic empowerment in MENA and spread awareness in the Western world.
