MANSPREADING-In public places where men occupy a public seat and half of yours , example in a train, waiting area, public seating place. well guess what???? Spain has become the first country to tackle the issue. We as females feel uncomfortable when we sit in a public place and half of our seats are occupied by men spreading their legs so wide. A female would be asked to sit properly even if we were wearing a pair of jeans . I think males should sit closed legs to make people sitting beside them comfortable. This is part of tackling the societal norms and adressing gender discrimination.

I am glad Spain has taken a stand on manspreading , hopefully it spreads(lol) to other countires. Anything that creates a public nuisance needs to be addressed. Thanks for your comments Caroline and Stella.

This is interesting topic. I think it has more to do with personal character and behavior. I have witnessed this and also seen men sitted very considerately in public spaces. Shared spaces that also need personal space can be tricky and sensitive. Other men would do alot by speaking up for the ladies in such cases for sure.

I have always had issues with this. Sometimes a man may occupy two seats and leave another person standing especially on public means of transport. This is utter selfishness. Yes, I have seen a few women do it too, but this is mainly done by men.
